HEART OF THE WOLF Series

BY LINDA BLACK + BASIA JAWORSKA

HEART OF THE WOLF

Heart of the Wolf is (we hope) an original series for television, with a six-season story arc featuring an intrepid young Polish man who is infatuated with knights and driven to be a hero. His quest propels him through the perils of war-torn 1940s Europe and ultimately, into the arms of a brave young woman who is on an equally volatile parallel journey.

In the pilot episode, SLEEPING KNIGHTS, we meet our hero and heroine, their friends and their enemies, and we witness the events that catapult them into their parallel hero's journeys. HEART OF THE WOLF is inspired by true events, some of which are chronicled in the memoir Surviving the Madmen's War by Zbigniew Jaworski.

Heart of the Wolf Intro Video

"Quiet Hero" introduces Teresa Pekacka (nee Jaworski) the real-life heroine whose story also inspired Heart of the Wolf.

"SLEEPING KNIGHTS"

They will fight tyranny. They will fight occupation. They will fight against the odds. They will fight for their country. They will fight for their friends. They will fight for themselves.

Amidst it all, against a backdrop of war, they will live, passionately, deeply, while navigating the setbacks and triumphs in coming of age.

They will learn to love, they will learn to live with loss, and they will learn who they are: They are heroes.

"THE GROTTO"

BY LINDA BLACK + BASIA JAWORSKA

THE GROTTO is our script for a short film drawn from Heart of the Wolf. In a small-town nightclub in Poland in the early days of WWII, an adventure seeking Boy Scout, a fiercely committed Scout Master, and a former Miss Poland take a stance against Soviet occupiers.

ALL THEIR LIVES SERIES

BY LINDA BLACK

ALL THEIR LIVES is a 1950s and '60s character-driven drama, with all the glamor of the era – the music, the cars, the fashion. Inspired by true events, it’s the story of one women and the two men who love her, two men, born the same day. It’s the story of Peggy, a beautiful Bell Telephone operator –with a secret. The lightning bolt of love strikes when she meets Perry, but her romance with the young Navy cadet is threatened by her own secret, and later, by tragedy. Peggy’s journey is the classic hero’s journey, fraught with challenges and heartbreak, and she navigates with incredible courage.

THIS ISN’T RED INK

THIS ISN’T RED INK is the pilot episode for ALL THEIR LIVES. For fourteen-year-old Peggy, 1953 is the summer of love. Sparks fly when she meets 18-year-old Navy cadet Perry and she isn’t going to let her tender age stand in the way of the future she wants, so she doesn’t correct him when he assumes she is 16.
